I am having disconnections often with my ADSL broadband connection, what can i do to prevent it?

The issue with the frequent disconnections can be due to internal wiring issue, or if you are using wireless connection to connect your PC and the modem, it might be caused by interferences. Please, make sure that you are using the Master Phone Socket (It should be the one closest to the entrance of your house or flat) and you are not using any extensions to connect your modem. If you are already using it determine the type of the master socket installed at your premises. If it is NTE5, you should be able to connect your modem directly to the test socket which is behind the lower part of the face plate of the socket. Monitor whether there will be improvement in the connection speed when your equipment is connected to the test socket which avoids any telephone wiring extensions and connects you directly to the phone line itself. If there is you should contact Telephone operator - Customer Support to report the problem and arrange the wiring at your premises to be checked.
